Stunning Burgundy Wedding Theme Inspiration with Gold Accents

The idea for this styled shoot came most simply from the colour burgundy as I absolutely love the colour! I then also had the Maggie Sottero dress available to me to use which I thought was really pretty. The first thing that I had a vision for was the table setting. I wanted to create something where the dominant colour of the table was burgundy.

A lot of wedding place settings have white table cloths with a small amount of colour as an accent whereas I wanted the colour to be dominant. It was actually harder than I thought to find a linen supplier who could provide burgundy tablecloths but the venue suggested I take a look at 1st Setting Events and they have such a great range of colours that I was able to find what I was after.

I am personally more of a silver fan but gold goes so perfectly with the colour burgundy so that’s what I chose for the colour of the cutlery and crockery and candle holders to create a great contrast. Again this was quite a hard one to find but eventually I came across Whitehouse Event Crockery who were able to provide the items that fit what I had in my mind.

Due to the use of a bold colour as the feature I needed a venue that would be a great backdrop to be able to show off the colour instead of detract from it and in came Hayne House. It’s a lovely modern style venue which fit perfectly with my vision.

To capture the vibrant colours of the day I needed a photographer whose style would suit the feel of the day and Victoria was the perfect choice. The photos are absolutely amazing and she was great with the models helping to get the shots we needed. Liz then created the most amazing floral arrangements which are all her own creativity as I all I told her was burgundy and no pampas grass/dried florals as that wasn’t the vibe

I was going for and there’s a lot of it around at the moment. I love the way she even painted some of the greenery gold to tie in with the rest of the colour palette.

The cake from Claire was also lovely and again I let her run with her own creativity as I told her modern and burgundy, I didn’t want a white cake as you see in a lot of weddings or a cake with a small amount of colour on it I wanted it to be bold and that’s exactly what I got. I hadn’t planned on doing a ceremony set up but once I saw the venue in person I knew it would be great to add that in and the focus of that was the hexagonal arch supplied by WeddArch.

It’s such a great piece and a great idea of Nataly’s as it’s a foldable wooden arch that she painted gold for me to tie in with the colour scheme.

One of the requirements for doing the shoot at Hayne House was that I had to have a videographer involved in the shoot which I wasn’t going to do but I’m so glad I did as the lovely Emma has produced such a wonderful video of the day. All of this wouldn’t be half as good without Amie and Kaii who were so great and professional. I managed to get a lovely suit from Marc Darcy for Kaii to wear and Alex did an amazing job with Amie’s makeup and hair.

I managed to find a lovely local supplier for the jewellery. The pieces were stunning and Lorraine and Gavin were really helpful in figuring out what they could provide. And last but definitely not least is Abi who provided the lovely stationery which looks so great and has a really lovely detail in the gold lettering which fits effortlessly with the rest of the shoot.
