Vicki and Rony’s magical wedding day took place at Babington House on the 26th May 2016 and what a beauty it was! In Vicki’s words, for them, it was perfection – a dream come true and I think you’ll easily see why.  Our pair fell in love at first sight with the venue and even found the planning process straightforward thanks to some supplier decisions being made by Babington House.

With the help of the in house florists at the venue, our pair created some really magical florals.  I just adore the archway which surrounds the church doorway and the bouquets are just to die for.  Fans of beautiful blush will love the dreamy table settings and the floral adornments.

Vicki wore two dresses and they are both simply fabulous.  The elegant simplicity of her Caroline Castigliano day dress is quite something, and her Jenny Packham dancing dress has just the right amount of sparkle. Aren’t Ria Mishaal’s images of the day just breathtaking? Thank you so much for sharing these photographs with us Ria. Enjoy WWWers!

Rony proposed on Christmas Eve and it was a very romantic, fun-filled proposal – after ten years of waiting… haha!  We are talking fake snow, a gospel choir, fireworks, our close family and two little boys hiding in the wings… very romantic!

We always wanted a traditional wedding in the UK and we fell in love with Babington House as soon as we arrived to view it and loved the idea of having all of our closest family and friends with us for the whole wedding period, making it feel like a mini-holiday.

We just wanted an intimate feel, incorporating the relaxed country house vibe that Babington House exudes and a day that we would remember forever.

The planning process felt fairly smooth to be honest.  We booked the venue about a year in advance of the wedding and worked closely with Becky, the wedding planner at the venue and my close friend and wedding planner Lisa Victoria Smith to bring our ideas to life.

We decided on a pre-wedding BBQ with close family and friends the night before the wedding and then the rest of our guests arrived on the morning of the wedding.

As the venue is in Somerset and we live in Leeds, we did lots of research around recommended suppliers and stalked Instagram for other Babington weddings to get ideas and thoughts around who to book for our hair and MUA, photographer, videographer etc.

The cake is made in-house and the florist and DJ are pre-set when you book the wedding so that took those big decisions out of our hands which helped.  We then just met up with the various suppliers to finalise our styling choices.

Babington House. We had a pre-wedding BBQ in the walled garden the night before the wedding.  The wedding ceremony was held at 4pm in the small chapel on the grounds of the House with a drinks reception and canapés outside on the lawn following the ceremony, the weather was beautiful, we were really lucky!

The wedding breakfast was in the Orangery in the main house and the evening reception in the bar.  The after party continued down at the outdoor pool until 7am!

My dress for the pre-wedding BBQ was by For Love & Lemons and I found it on the Revolve website.  I wanted something white as I never wear white and wanted to make the most of being a bride.

I had two dresses on the wedding day – one more classic and traditional Caroline Castigliano dress for the ceremony and then I changed into a more beaded, relaxed Jenny Packham dress just in time for the first dance.  Both dresses were from The Bridal Collection in Harrogate.

Accessories wise, my shoes were Valentino from Selfridges, my mum bought my Jenny Packham earrings and my rings were designed and made bespoke to match my engagement ring.

The bridal party’s make-up was by Eleanor Nancy @EleanorNancyMakeup – I did have a bit of an issue with finding a make-up artist I was happy with but as soon as I met Eleanor I knew she was the right fit.

Our sons, niece and nephews practised really hard in the run up to the wedding and sang Bind us Together at the front of the chapel – it was really cute, though the vicar decided to play his guitar and went so much faster than they had rehearsed!

My Nana read a passage from the bible and Rony’s mum read a Hindu mantra. My cousin Hollie Ann Lowe sang Amazing Grace while we signed the register and then we ended on Shine Jesus Shine, a real crowd pleaser!

Our beautiful flowers were created by Flowers by Passion and we LOVED them!  We had a beautiful arch framing the entrance to the church, and the flowers that lined the tables for the wedding breakfast were breathtaking.  We had lots of flowers to give away to our guests as people left the venue the following morning.

Our amazing photographer Ria Mishaal had shot quite a few weddings at Babington.  We loved her photography style and as soon as we spoke over the phone I got a great feeling about her.

Rony planned our honeymoon as a total surprise and it was magical.  We set off the day after we got back to Leeds and Rony and I headed to Rome for four nights where we saw all the sights, ate lots of amazing food and toured the vineyards around on the outskirts of the city.  We then went back home to collect the boys and flew straight to the Maldives for two weeks of total bliss!

Every moment! There were a few stand out moments; the pre-wedding BBQ was lots of fun, spending the day of the wedding running up to the ceremony with close family and friends filled with lots of laughs and love, seeing my Dad for the first time walking down the stairs to the chapel, losing the wedding rings as we were heading across the lawn to the chapel, seeing each other as the chapel doors opened.

The vicar’s sleeves setting alight in the chapel from a candle, the speeches, the first dance, walking through the grounds the morning after the wedding and visiting close family’s bedrooms to reflect on the day before – all of it really.  It was an incredible few days for our family.

Just try and enjoy every moment. It’s likely little things won’t work out as you wanted them, or people will stress you out or annoy you, but ultimately, you will (hopefully) only do it once, and it will honestly be the best day of your life. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

I really would recommend investing in photography and videography as we really love looking back on the day as you do forget bits as the months go on, the boys love watching it too and seeing themselves and the family.
