(I think our son was put out that he didn’t get to keep the ring!) I always said I never wanted a public or fancy proposal, so this was the ideal, intimate proposal.

There were no extras. It was very simple with a personal touch. The cost approximately £15,000. The budget was a conscious effort to meet our own financial means which meant we put our money into the elements that mattered to us.

The Orangery at Ingestre is a stunning building that is used for a variety of events which include yoga retreats, exhibitions and live music. The building floods with light and brightness which illuminated the hues of stone, white, dusky pinks and nudes that dressed the building.

One long trestle table was dressed with approximately 150 bottles and candles filled with dried florals, buds and grasses all in a nude palette. The cake was made by a friend’s Mum which stood on a table taken from my father’s garden. A vintage bar was installed and I took real enjoyment in hand painting and drawing a selection of the guests favourite cocktails on the place names and personally wrote these in a calligraphy style.

The whole day was INCREDIBLE! There was an electric atmosphere. This was also probably one of the first events since COVID 19 that all our friends and family had been back together (and allowed to dance). It is actually impossible to name a favourite moment as the whole weekend was an UTTER dream! Good times had by ALL involved!
